  6. Get A Peace Of Tape And Put It Over The Print 
  7. You Now Have You Finger Print

What is that white powder

Aim: To learn about the makeup of different white powders.

There are  a number of different white powders in our everyday life. Some of these are harmful and others are not. Test the four white powders listed to see which one has been found at the airport.

Here are some examples of everyday kitchen white powders.

On the black cardboard using a microscope you need to record what you see. You will be given a small amount of 4 white powders on your cardboard. Look at them under your microscope and record what you see. 
Do not mix the powders or taste the powders.

What This Tells Us Is That Salt And Sugar Work The Best.  Baking Soda Is The Worst. Cornflour Is In The Middle Of Ratings. Sugar Was White Powder I Could Smell Nothing When We Put The Iodine In It Looked Like Coke When We Put The Water In It Did Nothing And When We Put the Vinegar In It Turned Into Lemonade. Salt Is White Powder It Is Softish It Smells When We Put The Iodine In It Looked Like Pee When we Put The Water In It Turned Into Salt Water And When We Put The Vinegar It Turned into lemonade. Baking Soda White Powder It Was Soft It Smelt Really Good It, When We Put The Iodine In It Looked Like Ice Cream When We Put The Water In It Looked Like A Wart And When We Put The Vinegar In It Fizzed Up. Corn Flour Was White Powder Was Soft Smelt Like Flour When We Put The Iodine In It Just Stayed A Blob When We Put The Water In It Turned Purple When We Put The Vinegar In Nothing Happened.


Making Sherbet


Using the following recipe you need to make sherbet.
Sherbet recipe

Recipe: 

1tsp of powdered drink crystals (eg refresh)
1/4 tsp citric acid
1/4 tsp tartaric acid
1/4 tsp -baking soda.
Put all ingredients into a zip lock bag, stir, and enjoy.

Crazy Crystals

Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals


Borax Crystals

Materials


1) 2 teaspoons borax.
2) 1 cup of hot water.
3) 1 Paper.
4) 1 Spoon.
5) 1 Cup.
6) 3 Pipe Cleaners.
7)1 Peg.


Process


Step 1: Get 2 Teaspoons Of Borax And Add It To A Cup.
Step 2: Add A Cup Of Hot Water And Pore It into the cup with the borax in it.
Step 3: Mix The Borax And The Hot Water Until They Have Dissolved.
Step 4: Get 3 Pipe cleaners And Make Them To A Star.
Step 5: Get 1 Peg And Put The Star In The Borax and water.
Step 6: Leave it for 2 days.
Step 7: You Now Have Borax Crystals.


Sugar Crystals


Grow your own Sugar Crystals


Materials


1) 2 Teaspoons Of Sugar
2) 1 Cup Of Hot Water
3) 1 Brown Pipe Cleaner
4) 1 Peg
5) 1 Spoon
6) 1 cup


Process


Step 1: Get 2 Teaspoons Of Sugar And Add It To A Cup.
Step 2: Add 1 Cup Of Hot Water To The Cup With The Sugar.
Step 3: Mix The Sugar And and hot water until it has dissolved.
Step 4: Get 1  brown Pipe Cleaner And A Peg And Put The Pipe Cleaner In The Peg.
Step 5: Put The Pipe Cleaner In The Water With Sugar.
Step 6: Leave For 2 Days.
Step 7: You Now Have Sugar Crystals.


Salt Crystals

5) 1 Spoon.
6) 1 Cup.

Step 2: Add Hot Water it the cup with the salt in it.
Step 3: Mix The Water And Salt Until It Has Dissolved.
Step 4:  Put The Pipe Cleaner In A Peg.
Step 5: Put The Pipe Cleaner And Peg In The Cup.
Step 6: Leave For 2 Days.
Step 7: You Now Have Salt Crystals.
