My 500 word challenge #1

                                                                             Lions

Lions are wild and can be tamed but taming can be found difficult but awesome to have as a friend if they need medical help/helping them with looking after them in a healing process and more.

If you ever find a mad Lion do not approach it, it can end up extremely badly, and don't feed them unless you are professional with dealing with the wild lions and more wild animals.

In my opinion, I would say not to do anything stupid towards them if you are not a professional or without a professional or you could at the worst die and be their dinner or get badly injured or something like that.

Just to know they are very beautiful, can be friendly, and can be dangerous/annoyed or just in their natural habitat.

Did you know that most wild lions live in Africa?

Personally, I did because I studied lions at my old school when it was a task.

Did you also know that on average, males weigh 190kg (almost 30 stone) and females weigh 126kg (almost 20 stone).  They need this weight and power behind them to hunt large prey and defend their pride.

I’m loving these different facts about lions because some people think ‘Lions are way too dangerous but it is that I know of is only if they are mad/annoyed by someone/something but when they aren't and are getting the food they can be extremely kind.

Also, they are kind if they are used to being around you and if you go away and when you come back from a Holliday lets say they can be extremely excited to see you again

Another fact I know, Did you know that Young lions have rosettes and spots on their sandy coats, but these generally disappear as they mature?

This one is a bit more different but also cool and you can learn more different things about lions!

I just found out this one, Male lions grow impressive manes the older they get. These manes grow up to 16cm long and are a sign of dominance. The older they get, the darker their manes go.   As well as attracting females, their manes may also protect their neck and head from injuries during fights.

I didn’t know this! A pride of lions is usually made up of related females and their cubs, plus a male or small group of males who defend their pride. The lionesses rear their cubs together and cubs can suckle from any female with milk.

Who knows this one? Lions are highly adaptable and can live in very dry areas like the Kalahari Desert. Here they get most of their water from their prey and will even drink from plants such as the Tsamma melon.

Fact about lions, Lions are big eaters, they can eat up to 40kg of meat in 1 meal, around ¼ of their body weight.

Did you know that lions hunt during storms, mainly the night and the rest is during the day.
